The Festival is pleased to welcome YouTube sensation Justin Rasch, a highly talented American animator whose exceptional work can be found in the numerous action and fight scenes he animated throughout his career, and much more. Justin masters movement and knows how to deliver unique performances. With more than two decades of experience in the animation field and video game industry, as well as in being an actor and stuntman for the creation of reference videos, his art borders on perfection!
His work as a stop motion animator can be seen in Laika Studios' feature films Paranorman (2012) and Kubo and the Two Strings (2016). He also worked on other features like Hell and Back (2015) and Sponge Bob, Sponge Out of Water (2015), as well as the upcoming Alien Xmas by the Chiodo Brothers.
Some other works include the Blizzard Entertainment specials CookieWatch and Trace N Bake, and independent productions he co-directs with his wife, Shel Rasch, co-founder of their animation company Stunt Puppet Pictures based out of California. Their studio has also begun production of a new project called The Beast, which can be followed closely via their Youtube channel and blog, as is the tradition of the creative duo.
Between stop motion productions, Justin collaborates mainly with video game companies. He currently works as a CG animator in the cinematic department (animated sequences found in video games) at Blizzard Entertainment.
